Digital HDR Photography from Seattle, WA – Pacific Northwest Landscapes
Usually the best clouds for photographing are round and relatively large Nimbus formations – the ones that often indicate a coming storm when they have anvils attached to them across the sky (Cumulonimbus clouds in this case). Higher forming clouds – like the Cirrus clouds in the photo featured here – often don’t provide enough light contrast to make the highlights and shadows visible.
But when there’s enough contrast in these higher altitude clouds, they can form across the sky to create some truly stunning landscapes. With a little help from HDR – Cirrus cloud patterns are even more striking.
